What’s New: RSS Feeds and Recent Activity Page

We’ve added a couple more cool new Fanpop features for all you fanpoppers this week. Here are the details:

RSS Feeds

Yes, I know, we didn’t launch with them and folks have been begging us to add them asap. Feel free to subscribe to them via your favorite newsreader or news aggregation site (bloglines, my yahoo, etc.).

Here’s a list of the currently supported RSS feeds:

  • Fanpop 100
Highlighting the most popular links, news, videos, websites and more on Fanpop (http://www.fanpop.com/fanpop100/rss)
  • Recently Added
Track the latest additions to the site.

  • Spot Feeds: Stay up-to-date on the latest news, reviews, videos and more in your favorite spots. Look for the RSS button on the Spot home and links pages.

By the way, if you’re a complete beginner when it comes to RSS and have no idea what I’m talking about, don’t despair. Here’s a link to an article that helps total neophytes get up to speed on RSS: “RSS for Total Newbies”

Recent Activity

The recent activity feature allows you to keep tabs on what’s going on in the spots you’ve joined. To access this feature, sign in and go to your fanpop profile page (click the ‘my page’ link in the upper right corner of the page when you are signed in). Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Recent comments to your contributions
  • Recent replies to your forum topics
  • A list of your most recently updated spots
  • Recently rated links on your spots

That’s it for now. Keep the suggestions and feedback coming. And we’ll let you know about the next batch of cool features when they’re available (we’re currently working on ‘em).
